Setting Up the Perfect Nursery
A baby‘s crib is more than furniture — it’s where your little one will spend hundreds of peaceful hours. Getting the setup right from day one matters.
Choose the right spot. Place the crib away from windows, cords, blinds, and wall hangings. A quiet corner with good airflow is ideal.
Lower the mattress as they grow. Start with the highest setting for newborns (easier on your back). Once baby can push up, drop it down. By the time they can stand, the mattress should be at its lowest.
Keep it bare — really bare. For safe sleep, all you need is a firm mattress and a fitted sheet. No bumpers, pillows, blankets, or stuffed toys until after 12 months.
Check for recalls. Before assembling any crib, look it up on the CPSC website. Safety standards update regularly, and staying informed is free.
A well-prepared nursery gives parents peace of mind and babies a safe place to dream. Take your time, follow the guidelines, and enjoy those quiet midnight moments.
